CHOICES & DECISIONS
Sunday April 14, 2019 1:52 pmLife... even on a good day the human experience is folly and stupidity! and on bad days... well, "life" is most probably a mistake made at the highest levels. (He should have taken His rest after day five!)
All of life there are choices set before us and once a choice is undertaken then there ought to be a resolute decision that follows: Today I had a choice to make, I did... then I followed that with a resolute decision. Neither my choice made nor my decision which followed were good. However, I felt I only had 'bad' or 'worse' to choose from, so I chose bad.
Job is a great study in human misery. Job decides he wants answers to some of life's dilemmas. God (apparently) was not in a mood to give any answers. Instead, He teaches Job his lowly state as a human being, and because of that God wasn't required to answer him. So, He simply points out to Job that he deserves no answers because he wasn't even around when God laid the foundations of the world.
Now, Job was a good man... at least comparing his life to the lives of other men, that is probably why Job accepted what he was told rather than to keep probing. I am not a good man like Job, so I would have kept asking. I would have answered God and asked how could I have been around when the foundations of the world were laid when I had as yet not been created. And I would have further asserted if He were only trying to teach me my insignificance as a human that would be unnecessary as I was already well aware of my human condition.
I typed the above paragraph to make known I have some questions! Alas... not unlike Job mine too will go unanswered! But, that will not stop me from asking and wanting to know! My best guess is if I'm lucid as I lie dying my last thought will be summed up in the immortal words of the sage, Joey, "WHY GOD...WHY?"
