Pray for Audrey
June 28, 2011 4:11 pmI really had no intention of writing any more because I didn't think it was anything I ever cared to do again. However, there is a specific need and there was a time in the past when this blog reached a lot of people... people who are unknown to our family through Facebook, church, and some other social-medias like those.
If you read this and are saved and really do pray for people when you hear about a need... then, I ask you to read further. If what I have written would not apply to you specifically, then there is no point in you finishing this particular blog.
For several weeks, Audrey, (Tammy and Bob's youngest) has been doing something we all thought was adorable... then, it went to troubling. Tammy called it her "Elvis smile." Audrey is six-months-old and sometimes when babies first start becoming self-aware, they can begin to act embarrassed under certain circumstances. Anyway, there were times when she would present a little half-smile and then sort of look away and not hold anyone's gaze.
After awhile though it was seen that as she looked away she didn't seem to be as focused in her eyes? Then... she had one of these "smiles" and her little body clenched and drew up... it was an apparent seizure. Her doctor was immediately called and she did not see it as any special concern... at that time. Tammy was told to monitor her and see how often and how severe? Yesterday morning while Tammy was on a trip with her family little Audrey had her worst one yet. They drove home and took her directly to Kosair's Children's Hospital in Louisville. This is a well-respected hospital even on a national level for children.
In the last 20 (+) hours baby-Audrey has been put through a battery of neurological tests with more ongoing and scheduled even as I write this. The preliminary diagnosis is Tuberous Sclerosis. So, after I took that call I left work to come home and type this before we go to the hospital to see them. My hope is that a few people who might read this and really know how to pray will remember little Audrey... Tammy, Bob, and the rest of their family when you pray tonight.
