THE SECOND COMING ... PART THREE
WEDNESDAY MAY 9, 2012 10:10 AMBefore I begin I would like to say that a long-time friend of our family has gone to be with the Lord this morning at 6:21 am. Our prayers are now for her and her many loved ones. Heaven this morning is a little brighter and our old tired world is somewhat more dim.
Now, in this third part I want to talk about the ten signs that herald His Second Coming and what makes these particular signs so special. I think I can best accomplish this by telling all of you about a pamphlet on cancer I read several years ago.
Interestingly enough, this small brochure also had ten signs that a person could tell if they had cancer? And the reason behind why these (sometimes) ordinary conditions could tell with certainty if a person had cancer is the very same reason the (sometimes) ordinary signs written about in the Bible can tell when Christ's return will happen.
Here is a clue: it isn't that the signs (of His return) or symptoms (of cancer) are out of the ordinary scope of everyday life and events... it is the “way” and “timing” of how they are happening that is crucial to understanding.
I am going to give a brief list of a few symptoms the cancer brochure wrote about to help you understand... then, I will make a comprehensive list of the ten signs recorded in the Bible for Christians to know when Jesus will appear again.
The cancer brochure talked about unexplained night-sweats. Now, to be sure everyone understands... this is not speaking about someone who has been terrified by a nightmare and might wake up sweaty: that's understandable. This type of nightly sweating (the pamphlet stated) had no reason why this was happening? It is just that night-after-night a person would awake and be soaked with sweat.
Another sign was a persistent and (or) unexplained cough. This would be a person who does not smoke and is not exposed to environmental issues which would explain a persistent cough. I mean, if you smoke like a chimney or work in a coal mine... expect to cough! Otherwise: the average person without an underlying medical problem should not have a persistent cough.
The brochure also said another sign was a wound which wouldn't heal... or it took a very long time to heal? Anyway: there was a total of ten signs given that would tell a person if they had these signs to immediately seek professional help because you have cancer! (And, of course, the brochure continued and listed seven more signs that would show if a person had cancer?)
Here is the reason why (even) without a single test being run the cancer society could with great accuracy state a person had cancer... that is if all ten signs (symptoms) were happening at the VERY SAME TIME!
Individually (the brochure stated) any of the ten symptoms could be happening to an otherwise healthy person. Sometimes things happen in our bodies and they are unexplained and with no apparent reason. But, they are not a cause for concern as a stand-alone occurrence. And so it is with the ten signs the Bible records as a precursor for the Second Coming of Christ!
Do you know why people, mostly those who are lost: and sadly... even a few who are supposedly saved scoff at the idea of Christ returning to the Earth? It is because ALL of the ten signs that the Gospel writers and Christ talked about are happening a lot of the time... and have happened almost since the beginning of time itself? But... the main problem with these scoffers are that they have not correctly understood the importance of the way in which all of the signs are to be happening just before His Second Coming. Before I list all of the signs let me make a brief point as a way of explanation.
There has always been earthquakes... one of the signs. There has always been wars... another of the signs. There has always been hunger (famines) another sign. There has always been “signs in the Heavens” … another sign: etc. etc. etc. But, here is what (apparently) some people have failed to see?
It isn't that these things have not always happened. It is just that never since the beginning of time has ALL TEN SIGNS been happening at the very same time... and at never before seen numbers! Just like with a self-diagnosis of cancer: there should be no great concern with only a couple of the symptoms happening... but if all are happening at the same time? Well... you would (with certainty) have cancer. So it is with Christ, and His imminent return. At least statisticaly I will prove that since man has recorded both time and events... NEVER has all ten recorded signs in the Bible been happening at record setting pace and at THE SAME TIME IN HISTORY!
And I do mean... RECORD SETTING PACE! Early on I'll talk about one of the signs recorded in Mark 13:8. In this verse there are three of the signs given... I'll talk about one: earthquakes. Jesus said in this verse: “... and there shall be earthquakes in divers places...” Of course, the word “divers” only means many and (or) varied. (Think of the word, diverse.)
My goal in this series is to take numbers and data from around the world and from sites and agencies that every person reading this can go to and see that every single sign Christ talked about that would mean His return is at hand is now happening, and at the very same time, and... all around the globe!
The ten recorded signs in the Bible that give us a remarkable way to date His return are: FALSE PROPHETS … WARS & RUMORS OF WARS … FAMINES … PESTILENCE … EARTHQUAKES … GOSPEL PUBLISHED IN ALL NATIONS … LARGE NUMBER OF CELESTIAL EVENTS … HEART ATTACKS … END-TIME GOVERNMENT IN PLACE ... ISRAEL COMPASSED ABOUT BY HER ENEMIES.
Because I work today (close) I will wrap this up with the thought that I will begin with data (when next I write on this subject) talking about all ten signs... but not necessarily in order: the main reason for that is that they are found in different parts of the Bible. So, it is rather difficult to know an exact order anyway. I will begin with false prophets and then earthquake data... after that I am not yet sure what I will write about as the next sign? That is I will begin a fourth part to this series if the Lord doesn't return before I write again?
