YOU CAN'T GET THERE FROM HERE

Saturday 12/15 2012 2:33 pm

I am going to today record a truism that at first read might seem impossible to be true... nonetheless, it remains very true.

I was up and typing this morning at 4:44 am. For more than a third of my life I have been restless and can't seem to sleep well. The only good thing about persistent insomnia is that I can get more things done than most people (:

Recently I have been going to a different gym because they are open 24 hours a day. (Planet Fitness) I really like the Y but they close rather early in the evening and they don't open until 5:00 in the morning. For people like me... who needs something to do while most of the world is sleeping that's simply not good enough. lol

I know why I can't sleep like I ought and even when I am able to sleep it is mostly fitful... but knowing the reason(s) why still doesn't lend itself to simple answers. Well, I take that back, the answer is simple but the problem is too complex? To my readers, here is my question for this blog. Have you ever heard the phrase, "You can't get there from here?" I know, on the surface it makes no sense, right?

But, what if I were to tell you that statement makes perfect sense and even if a person knows the way to get where they long to go, has the means, inclination, and the time... it can still be a true statement: honestly

I finished all of my shopping today for Christmas, I guess that's a good thing? In a little while we are heading out to my middle daughters house for a family gathering, and that's always a good thing (:

As different thoughts come to me and I sit here and type I am now thinking that I am sort of like the Apostle Paul?

I started to say that what I was going to write is the only way I am like him... but in reality there really are two ways we are very much alike. The first one that came to mind when I was preparing to finish my thought where I said I was like him was that he also once wrote that, "... among sinners (he) was chief." Well, I'm sorry to say that he does not have the corner on that market.

So, I'm much like him in that way... but there is also one other way I am like him. Of course, when he penned his words to the Philippians he was speaking of an entirely different destination than I might (at present) be thinking about. However, in his sentiment and the depths of his desire I say "Amen, me too brother!" Paul wrote that he was, "... in a straight betwixt two, having a desire to depart..." Except, I can't... even when by heart I know the way.

Well, Deb just came in and held up a big red shirt with Santa's face on it and wanted to know if I wanted to wear that? I glanced up... "Uh-don't think so." Well, I know that is my cue that I have to leave in a couple of minutes to head out to be with the girls. So, I hope all who reads this has a great day and that never in your life will the question I posed in today's blog ever be true for you. Be happy!!!

One more thing, I had fun night before last writing a "rap" ... honestly. lol
