VIRGIL, VIRGIL, AND MORE VIRGIL!!!!!!! PLUS TODAY'S VIDEO

Saturday March 2, 2013 7:12 am

If you don't like pictures and (or) videos of dogs you might want to skip this blog posting. I have decided to basically blow up this page with a lot of pictures. Look, I know there are people who do not care for the fact that I pray for my pets much like I do for others whom I also love. In fact, honestly... I wouldn't have an animal in my care that I didn't pray for! Even with all of my faults and sins... and there are myriad of both, I am still a praying man. I always have been and that is just a part of who I am. Certainly, if all my prayers were known some would believe they might reach the level of profanation: yet, did He not say, “... ye have not because ye ask not...”

I'll give you an example. Last night I came home after working all day and was worried what I might find... Virgil had been very sick! Now, I don't want to imply that all his problems are past... his sides are still swollen and his neck still has a large lump on it. But... as I came through the door his eyes looked bright and he had a plastic bone (toy) he brought to the door to meet me. Recently he had been so sick he didn't even feel like doing that. Anyway, I hugged and kissed his neck and I just kept thanking the Lord! (Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus, Thank you Jesus... I just kept repeating that prayer.) Small baby steps for his healing is fine by me :) The truth I know is that you can still pray for people, sick, lost, etc. and at the same time pray for your pets as well. Why does anyone imagine that one prayer would make the other (by necessity) to be exclusionary?

I have many times written about religious things, but this is not a blog only about religion. I have written about political issues, again though this is not a political blog. In point of truth, this is only a blog I write about whatever at the time is important to me. At this particular time, among other things I have been thinking about Virgil a lot so I have been writing about him.

There is a list of people I pray for many times every day of my life. I also pray for my pets every day as well... and for Israel, the Second Coming of Christ, etc. etc. etc. I pray while I'm driving, walking, working... I just pray a lot. So, the fact that I pray for my friend Virgil, does not cause me to negate praying for other people and their needs also! I wrote that because I know some people, whom I greatly love that does not like the attention, money, or the prayers I offer for my pets. Let me say this nicely and with as much love as I can offer... “I don't care what you think.” Was that too mean :)

Honestly, I love you whomever you might be... but you ought to know by now that you are not going to be able to change me, so you might as well quit trying. (Lol) Now, onto some pictures and videos of my friend Virgil!

There is no particular order for these pictures and videos other than they were taken within the last couple of days. My little guy was cold after coming back inside so I covered him up... he looks like a Star Wars character :)

We were on our way home from the vet and he had been sedated, so he was still struggling trying to come awake and he was wobbly. At the office he had been given a strong shot to help him lose the water which had been collecting around his middle so I got him out so he could make his toilet.

We are on our way home after the above video was taken and he is now beside me in a sitting position and he is sound asleep, with his front legs locked... and snoring loudly! lol

Star Wars, 2.0

It's early and beginning to snow and we are out for a walk.

Virgil, with two of his friends: Lucy and Ginger.

Later this day (at 4:30) I had an appointment to take Virgil to the vets, so I had him out running around with me and enjoying some of his favorite things to do. This next picture we are going down one of the roads that leads to Colgate Park... a place he has always enjoyed. He starts looking around and in this next picture he has the first inkling that might be where I am taking him? He glances over at me, like, "... Really, is that where we're going?" Within just a few seconds of this picture being taken he starts to get excited as he realizes that park is where we are heading :)

This next one is cute, but sad for me. I held him in my arms when he was given the shot to sedate him for his x-ray. Once he is fully asleep I stepped back to take his picture. Dr. Moore is really nice... he allowed me to carry him back for his x-rays and I held him while it was being done. I told Benny that ever since Virgil was a pup he had separation anxiety because we had him kenneled while we were on vacation in Florida. This was during the time of the September 11 attacks by some cowardly Muslims. Of course, I might have lied just a little... it might be me who has the separation anxiety issues. lol

This is one of my favorite Virgil pictures. I was sitting in my car and texting, to someone important and he climbed into the backseat of my car and was looking out the rear window. I love how he is sitting and looking out.

Whatever video I record for this blog I will upload it tonight after I get in from work. I hope everyone has a great day!

I was ready to leave for work and Virgil heard me say that and he ran and got his bone, he wanted to go! So, Deb put his little hoodie on him and I drove him around the block, for now he seems satisfied :)
