ANOTHER DAY
Friday January 4, 2013 5:09 pm"Learning is ever in the freshness of its youth, even for the old." (Atschylus) I began today's blog with that quote because even though I greatly disliked school, I have always enjoyed learning. And I learned something very important last night. Well, truth-be-told it was the very early hours of this morning before the lesson was complete and my learning had sunk in. What I learned is that my oldest daughter, and her husband, are not very good at recommending movies :)
I stayed up until after one in the morning watching a movie she had suggested even though I had to be up at five. I waited until I knew they would be awake and I called this morning to find out a little more about their recommendation. She said they were watching it and Bob said... "You've got to tell your dad about this one!" HAHAHAHAHAHA
My best guess is that this one might become a cult classic? It has all the earmarks. (lol) The one thing that did bother me was that it left us hanging and I never got to see the big guy? It was because they loaded his ice-encased tomb with dynamite and blew him up! I did get to see his elves... 198 of them to be exact. Of course, in case they might want to make a sequel (You know movies that are never as good as the first? Of course, in this case I am not sure that is even possible?) we never actually got to see the body blow up: instead we just saw the explosion, so maybe he escaped: good for him:)
I think I owe them one but I'm not sure what would be a good movie to suggest? Maybe... Barton Fink? Or how about... Hudson Hawk? I mean, I actually sat through both of them. If any readers know of any movies worse than either of those two, I am open for suggestions. I just thought of another snoozer that I actually had gone to the movies to see: The Life Aquatic. (lol) Yep, I know how to pick 'em.
This is a park near where I work that I go to fairly often.
