PRAYERS FOR MY FRIEND

Thursday November 14, 2019 10:00 pm

For any and all who reads this blog and who knows Christ as their Saviour... will you please pray for my friend. If you just pray it as an unspoken for "Rob's friend" God will know who you are praying for. Thank you!

MY MORNING SHADOW

Tuesday November 12, 2019 3:19 am

Good morning to any readers. This morning the house is very quiet as I pace through just three rooms so I won't wake anyone. Back and forth I amble along with no real thought or goal, other than to just keep moving. I realized that as I have gone from bed to couch, back to bed, to kitchen chair, from there to recliner, and now to my computer desk... Joe, my faithful friend follows me, he is my sweet morning shadow.

I suppose if I had more gumption I would get in my car and drive just a few blocks to the 24 hour gym and play around on some of their equipment. I typed that sentence to see if the thought might motivate me to action and my car... but it didn't so I don't think I'm going to do that. Part of the reason might be that it's really cold out this morning, and an equal part might just be that I'm lazy.

I arranged my office and computer desk in such a way so that my laptop and my single library case are within a hands reach. I just finished scanning several titles of books I once loved reading and now I can not even be moved enough to want to read, and two of the remaining couple hundred books I still own are new to me and unread, but the rest are well known to me.

Many of the (autobiographical) books authors are long gone, a few of the others who are still alive have fallen on hard times and are not in positions of power they once held: I guess life happened?

I pulled down a book of poetry by Dr. Hyles and read a little... but even that was uninspiring. However, all might not be in vain after all as I did just now find something in reaching for a book that has captured my attention. It is shiny yellow and quite hard, approximately 1.5" x 1.5" inches.

Apparently at some time in the distant past Deb has attempted to lure Joe in here with a square of cheese, set it on top of one of my books and then promptly forgotten it. Now, I have a piece of dried cheese as hard as plastic on my desk... interesting, I think?

I guess I will stop this soon and get back to pacing. I sort of feel like one of my grandsons, Manny. He has a very active mind and many times even while in the house he will start walking around and around through different rooms in the house. After awhile I might ask, "Hey buddy, are you doing Ok?"

"Yes," he responds, "I just need to walk." Poor little guy, he just doesn't know how to shut down and allow his mind to rest. I wish I knew so I could tell him, alas... I have no answers for that dilemma.

Goodnight.
