BINGE WATCHING

Monday April 27, 2020 11:15 pm

I have a couple of anniversaries to celebrate on this day. The least significant one is that I retired two years ago today. It is because of that one though that I am able to binge watch shows if I so choose? Last night I began a show on Netflix and I am now on the second season episode 4... Stag.

One thing I especially like about this show is that the protagonist keeps reminding all who will listen is that everything that happens to people, whether good, or bad (and it's mostly bad) is happening because of decisions that all have chosen. And chosen is the optimal word because none were forced to make the decisions which has thus far led to all of the events which has happened. Although overstated, almost in cartoonish exaggeration... yet all the violence in the series would actually be a logical outcome if real people made the same choices in their own lives.

I like shows like this one where there is a well defined protagonist and an obvious antagonist. This show was following that formula with Bateman playing the role of a hero, even if one who is soiled and he had his antithesis in Morales (Del) until he was unceremoniously dispatched by a shotgun blast to his face! I have to admit that one caught me by surprise!

Anyway, so far other than by reputation I have not yet seen who the main antagonist will be?

So, I'll probably go back and finsih episode 4 of the second season and save the rest for the next day or two.

So, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!! I believe a gift of wool or copper would be in order :)

#!*&$+$# Earth Day

Wednesday April 22, 2020 10:22 am

I have a busy day planned today. I just finished showering long enough to run a 75 gallon hot water tank out of hot water. And, before that I spent an inordinate amount of time just brushing my teeth and leaving the water running while I brushed.

After I dress (in clothes that hopefully required an extra amount of energy to manufacture) I'm going to go to the gas station and top my tank off just so I can spill a little gas on the concrete... 'cause I need to do my part to deplete the ozone.

Then, I will drive aimlessly around often going through long lines at fast food establishments just so my engine can idle long periods of time. At the window I will order a single use cup of ice water... after driving away I will take a few sips and then throw the water, cup, lid, and straw from my moving vehicle.

After hours of burning fuel and helping to raise the poor air quality index as high as I can I will find a wooded area and walk until I find that perfect tree. It will be a tree just large enough to wrap my arms around until my fingers just barely touch. No, I will not be giving it an Eco-friendly wacky hug. A tree with that girth is perfect for me to use the chain saw I own and cut it down fairly quickly. I will not be dropping it because I need firewood, The fireplaces we have are gas for one and electric for the other. Nope, I'm just going to kill it because I can!

Alright... actually the only things I have written so far that is true is that I brush my teeth often and for awhile, and I like long showers. And of course, I HATE Earth Day and all the Gore sycophants who worship at the feet of 'Mother Earth!'

God has rightly stated that these crazy left-wing present day environmentalists are the very same people "... who worship the creature more than the Creator." At best, this speck of a rock floating in empty space we humans call home is a fish bowl, cage, Habitrail, etc. It is something God called into existence to house His important creation, man, animals, etc. It IS NOT to be worshiped!

Regardless how well man tries to take care of it... or how badly he treats the rock he lives on this Earth will be destroyed, but not by man. God will one day destroy it as even the 'elements will melt with fervent heat.'

At some future point those who once lived here and are born again will not even be able to remember they once called this Earth their home. Isaiah 65:17: "For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind."

I suppose I hate days like this (that are set aside to honor a rock floating in space) so much is that I know it dishonors God as heathens all around the globe will actually worship trees, grass, water... everything that will one day burn, along with their own souls as they will not worship God!

For any who reads this and are saved, please be sure today to worship God instead of the Habitrail you presently reside.

TOO MUCH TV

Monday April 20, 2020 10:25 pm

I have a couple of anniversaries coming up in a week... but at this point I don't have any plans blogging in detail about either one of them.

Suffice it to say that in a week one of them will be that I will have been retired two years... and in that time (for certain) I've watched a lot of late night tv that I hadn't watched before retiring. And now, since all of this nonsense first started I have refused to stay home, finding something to do that involves multiple daily trips. Yet, even though I apparently get out much more than the vast majority of people I have found that at home I'm watching an inordinate amount of tv!

I think I've binge-watched just about every single British crime drama series on Netflix! For some reason I like how those shows are written more than their American counterparts. I suppose we must all find ways to fill our time, but I
am confident that early morning hours spent in a darkened room watching series which ended years ago is not the best use of anyone's time.

I even have a handful of new books I recently obtained and I haven't cracked open a single one of them yet. I have recently finished several projects that I had been wanting to start. Now though I need to get more material to make more things, but the second hand shops, flea markets, etc. are all closed and that's where I buy what I need to refurbish and remake the things I like.

Right now I'm in my office typing on my laptop, behind me an FM station is playing oldies and a foot to my right I have a tv tuned on and I'm flipping back and forth between Hannity and a slutty sitcom, Mom. Yep, more evidence of time well spent.

Anyone out there who is as bored as I am I hope you find better ways to spend your time than I have. I also hope you all have a nice evening.

I HATE ALL THINGS CORONA

Wednesday April 15, 2020 9:38 pm

Let me be factual, it is not just the Corona-Virus I hate... but now because of it I hate all things corona!

I used to like seeing the corona from the sun or the moon... now, I turn away in disgust and spit if I even catch a mere glimpse of such a thing!

I despise the thought that I actually have body parts which are associated with the word, corona; i.e. my tooth or skull. Once I understood this I thought about having all my teeth pulled, then it occurred to me I would get crowns, and that word 'crown' is translated corona in Spanish!

I even entertained the idea of running my skull headlong into a concrete wall and breaking my corona. Do you know what stopped me? Nope, not the possible pain or even the stupidity of such an act. No, what stopped me was imagining the aftermath and what might happen at autopsy; as some unknown (to me) pathologist might remark and say that this poor foolish man, "...had broken his corona!"

I now crush any and all jonquil, daffodil, and milkweed that I see because of an appendage on the inner side of their corolla, yep, sadly it is also called a corona!

At night I have driven past power stations and have often seen the outward glow from high-voltage conductors, and before that never bothered me, but once I learned that glow is called corona... now I'm filled with rage and I want to drive through the fence and blow the whole thing up!

The other other night I could not sleep, so as I was lying awake anyway I began thinking where I might have seen any daffodils in my neighborhood, so the next time I'm out walking I could rush in to some strangers yard and trample them... just then I happened to glance over from my office chair and saw my cigar boxes. A combination of rage and horror etched my features and I raced (well, walked rather awkwardly is more accurate) to my boxes and threw the lids open!

Now, I like those big 60 ring cigars and I have a few in my collection... but the abhorrent thought I had was what if I had any Corona cigars with their highly unusual shape as part of my collection? Thankfully, I did not. Now I could return to my flower crushing fantasies!

I hate Corona, California! But to be fair, I already hated California even before this latest virus!

I now despise Corona beer! Can you imagine that the Pilgrims actually stopped their voyage before the end so they could go ashore and make beer. Yep, that's true but I bet if they knew one day some future blend would carry that horrid name they might have well sailed right past Plymouth!

Yep, if you ever want a fight on your hands from a broken, 60 something old guy just walk up to me and boldly say, "Corona!" I double-dog dare you!
