THE WISDOM OF POOH :)

Well, I did something this morning I
haven't done since my girls were young.... I went shopping early on
Black Friday :) The last time I did this was when one of the new
games came out about 20 years ago and the girls wanted it: now though
I can't even remember what “it” was, I just know it was a game
console and expensive, and I had to stand in line for awhile.
This morning at 4:49 am (doors to open
at 5:00) I stepped to the door and was first in line at Lowe's in
Clarksville, Indiana. I suppose because the morning was cold most
people stayed in their cars with engines running... at least until
they saw someone walking to the door (me) and that must have been
what everyone was waiting on: that first customer to go to the door.
Within maybe 3-4 minutes after I stepped to the door the line started
growing behind me and now looked to be numbering thirty or more
people.
I wanted a wine cooler they had on sale
and it is now atop an old library table I have on the other
side of my desk, and I can hear the motor quietly humming. I just
glanced at the LED readout and it is at 47 degrees and now ready for
me to place my first bottle of wine inside :)
On another note... I had another sad
dream, now two nights in a row and three out of my last eleven days. Although night before last my dream
wasn't sad, only waking up to find it untrue made me sad all Thanksgiving day. However, last night's dream I was heartbroken while
dreaming and still sad upon awaking. I think I yearn for the days
long ago when many nights in a row were spent blissfully sleeping
with dreams unremembered upon awaking. Or, maybe that thought itself
was only a dream, for I can't honestly recall such a time in my life
that would have been true, e.g. blissfully sleeping with unremembered
dreams... at least not for the past couple of decades :(
Sometimes, at least for me the line blurs between dreaming and wakefulness, for there are times my dreams as I slumber and sleep seem more real to me than my known reality. This last thought caused me to think of a famous Poe quote. I will now leave you with two quotes from two of my favorite authors. The first speaks to my thought of lines being blurred between dreaming and reality... and the second quote is probably why we dream at all.
“All that we see or seem is but a
dream within a dream” ~ Edgar Allan Poe
"I think we dream so we don't have to be apart for so long. If we're in each others dreams, we can be together all the time." ~ A.A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
