PRAYERS FOR A FRIEND

Monday October 26, 2015 9:50 am

KJV -- Romans 7:14-25 -- Before asking for prayer for someone I know, and have long loved, I thought it important to include verses on the human condition: you know, that damnable one step forward and two steps backward way of living!

However, in being aware these verses are there I do not offer them as an excuse, neither for me nor anyone else who chooses to live with ongoing sin and disobedience as part of their daily life.

That being said, I would like to ask any person out there who reads this, if you are saved and have a personal relationship with God and have no known or ongoing present sin in your life... I would like to specifically ask of you a favor?

(The reason I am only asking saved people who are trying to daily live right to pray is that if you are not in that 'trying to live right group', then your prayers for others aren't heard until you get right with God yourself. I would encourage you to do that because for your own sake it's important... but for now, and for this blog, I'm only reaching out to that select group of believers whose honest prayers will be heard.)

Recently I learned something and because of that I know some who are hurting... will you earnestly pray as a special unspoken prayer request?

If you are saved and will pray it honestly does not matter if you know who it is that I am speaking about, neither does it matter if you know the need I am presenting, it only matters that God knows... and I am supremely confident that He does!

Thank you!

GOOD TO SEE MR. McFLY TODAY

October 21, 2015 10:29 am

Do you really want to feel old today? Here is how to do it. Just realize that beginning tomorrow the future date Marty arrived "back to the future" will be history, and will ever be a new part of the past!

Surely Armageddon must be upon us! lol

In spite of the feeling old thought I hope all who reads this has a good day.

HOLD THE MUSHROOMS

Tuesday October 13, 2015 5:14 pm

“Life is too short to stuff a mushroom.” ~ Shirley Conran

I am constantly reminded, either through experience (like today's birthday) or long thought, about the brevity of life. The only time I actually like brevity and being concise is in my writing: however, I have never learned how to do either one well as it relates to writing in general. In that regard verbosity seems to be my only gift: maybe it's because it seems that is the only thing by my own effort I can make last... everything else fades and changes so very quickly.

Today is the birthday of our middle daughter, Melissa. “Happy birthday Honey.” Has it actually been 40 years since that day in the fall of 1975? The short answer: “Yep.” The long answer is that time must truly be an illusion, i.e., the idea of a dream within a dream, for surely nothing can pass that quickly!

Earlier today I was sitting in my van waiting on someone and I was entertaining the long thoughts in my head that I am now writing... although what is to me long thoughts... might really be short thoughts to a normal person: I wish I knew for certain?

Some examples in my life for the passing of time is that we have now been in this house more than a year, the house before that we were in nearly five years, the one before that more than a year, and the one before that, 14 years... etc. etc. etc., and that is how time (which is our lives) passes by us; or in many cases passes us by.

Other than to wish a happy birthday to one of my daughters I had no reason to write today, having done that I was ready to stop writing but I happened to glance down and saw the tattoo on my forearm. That anchor and the numbers (which are only important to me) I got on April 27, 2014. Again, 18 months ago... no way!

The tattoo of my beloved friend Virgil I got on my 58th birthday, which means that is nearly two years ago now... and my rose tattoo: which also only holds meaning for me I got on the first day of fall (September 22nd) in 2012! Yep, life flies by!!! So, the most important thing I have to offer any of my fellow travelers who reads this blog and is in this ridiculous and brief journey we call life, is just this: the quote I began with: take it to heart dear friends for it is obviously true:

Life is too short to stuff a mushroom!
